Without other offers, Dole nears sale to Murdock
Dole Food says it received no additional bids in a "go-shop" window that ended Tuesday, clearing the way for Chairman and CEO David Murdock to purchase the company for $1.2 billion. Murdock, who owns 40% of the company with his family, took the company private in 2003, then public again in 2009. He made an unsolicited bid in June.
