- Sunflower buys name from SUPERVALU
Sunflower Farmers Market has acquired the use of the Sunflower name from SUPERVALU and is changing its private-label packaging to incorporate the name. It also is changing three Newflower Farmers Market stores in Texas to Sunflower stores. The packaging previously carried an image of a sunflower and the words "Serious food, silly prices." A 10-year study of more than 30,000 Swedish women found a 42% increased risk of stroke among those who ate the most red meat, at least 3.6 ounces a day, compared with those who ate less than an ounce a day. The study found consumption of red and processed meats increased the risk for "cerebral infarction," the most common type of stroke, but did not influence the risks of other types of stroke.
