Coca-Cola patents natural fermentation method for fortified beverages Coca-Cola has filed a patent for a method of natural fortification that creates fermented beverages containing up to 20 times the recommended daily intake of vitamins like vitamin B12, vitamin K, folate and biotin. The company's scientists said a single fermentation method and micro-organism can be used to boost the vitamin levels in both carbonated beverages and non-carbonates such as coffee and dairy drinks.
