Shuanghui International, the largest pork producer in China, has agreed to buy Smithfield Foods for $4.7 billion in cash, in a deal subject to U.S. regulatory approval. China produces and buys the most pork in the world and represents the third-largest market for U.S. pork. Mondelez looks to emerging markets for growth
Mondelez International said it will invest $100 million this year, $200 million in 2014 and as much as $300 million in 2015 to support growth in emerging markets.
