Eating two apples a day can help older women lower their cholesterol levels, according to a study in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Postmenopausal women who ate 75 grams of dried apple a day, equivalent to two medium-sized apples, for six months experienced a 13% decline in total cholesterol levels and a 24% drop in low-density lipoprotein, or "bad," cholesterol levels, researchers found.
