Simon Property Group, Westfield Group and Glimcher Realty Trust are among the major mall operators that are trying out applications with navigational tools and sale and discount offers. Simon uses Shopkick's app in about half of its 338 U.S. locations and is working on its own version with group discounts, and Westfield in 2010 launched an app for its 55 U.S. locations, while Glimcher is aiming to roll out its version in time for back-to-school shopping.
