- Report: More moms opt for mobile web and smartphone apps
Mothers armed with smartphones use them to go online more often than they do on their desktop and laptop computers, according to Babycenter's 2011 Mobile Mom Report, an annual survey of about 5,000 U.S. mothers. Mothers with smartphones also favor applications for a variety of research functions, including searching out information on health, shopping, diet and exercise. Gap gained a presence on China's largest e-commerce platform this week with the launch of its store on the Taobao Mall, which reportedly commands about 70% of online retail sales by merchandise volume.
