The price of semiconductors increased as much as 6.8% today as the global tech market felt its first effects from last week's earthquake in Japan. Analysts are anticipating that rolling blackouts and a general disruption of the supply chain will lead to "phenomenal price swings and large near-term shortages" of DRAM and NAND flash memory -- 40% of which is supplied by Japan. "Suppliers are likely to encounter difficulties in getting raw materials supplied and distributed and shipping products out.
