Brick-and-mortar specialty retailers are seeing more of their shoppers migrate to Amazon and other online outlets to find the best deals on brand-name items, according to research from TraQline. Categories including kitchen appliances and portable power tools saw an especially big shift because of lower online prices, and Amazon's share of online sales of kitchen electrics rose to 35% from 17% between 2005 and 2010. - Touted privacy tool is included in new version of Internet Explorer
The newest version of Microsoft's Internet Explorer includes a tool that helps users keep their online movements from being monitored. Internet Explorer 9 is the first major Web browser to include a do-not-track tool. Mozilla has said it plans to add the feature later in its Firefox browser, while Apple and Google haven't declared their intentions on the feature, which was proposed by the Federal Trade Commission three months ago.
