Oddbins is striving to gain the support of 75% of its creditors under a company voluntary arrangement to restructure its debts. The wine retailer has filed for administration to buy time. "This is purely a precautionary measure to allow the CVA to take place," according to a representative of the retailer. Filing for administration allows Oddbins a "moratorium over any claims of 10 days, after which the results for the CVA vote will be known". Scot Rank, chief executive officer at Wal-Mart de Mexico, said the company is aiming to lower supply costs to help the company's margins as raw material costs rise.
