Kimberly-Clark teamed with other brands to launch a promotion at Family Dollar, called "Spice up your Summer Fun," highlighting the national brands sold at the discount chain. "We needed to bring the power of scale, and we couldn't do it on our own, so got other CPGs involved," said Blake Boulden, director of business development and shopper marketing for Kimberly-Clark. Truvia to be introduced in India, Brazil
Cargill is planning to expand distribution of its zero-calorie natural Truvia sweetener to Brazil and India. Truvia has been sold in the U.S. since 2008, and was introduced in Mexico in 2010 and Venezuela in 2012. Fox Business (4/10)

More Americans are developing a taste for tangy fermented foods like kimchi and Sriracha, and food-makers are responding with Lay's Sriracha potato chips and Heinz ketchup with balsamic vinegar. "There's a group seeking more intense, hotter and spicier flavors and another group who is interested in experimentation and a broader range of flavors," said Haven Cockerham, a Heinz vice president. Study looks at millennials' food-shopping habits
Alice Sylvester, chief operating officer of the Media Behavior Institute, says millennial shoppers can be reached through radio; they consider food a source of entertainment; and they cook but value convenience. GMA food labeling workshop kicks off April 30
GMA will once again offer the popular Complying with Regulatory Requirements for the Labeling of Packaged Foods workshop April 30 to May 2 at GMA headquarters.

This comprehensive two-and-a-half-day workshop on food labeling rules will present the fundamentals for labeling of food and beverage products regulated by the FDA and meat and poultry products regulated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service.

GMA’s staff experts in food labeling and nutrition will teach food company personnel and others involved in label design the food labeling skills they need, whether they are responsible for labeling compliance, food product marketing or product development. Instruction, interaction and hands-on activities provide an intensive introduction to labeling rules or an intermediate refresher course.
