  • Wal-Mart voices opposition to credit-card fee settlement
    Wal-Mart joined Target and NRF in opposing a proposed settlement in a spate of lawsuits against MasterCard, Visa and 13 big banks over the processing fees retailers pay on credit card transactions. The company urged retailers who are a party to the case to reject the settlement, saying provisions prohibiting future lawsuits against Visa and MasterCard "would require merchants to broadly waive their rights to take action against the credit card networks for detrimental conduct or acts."
