Frito-Lay develops baking process for fried flavor
Frito-Lay has patented a baking process that uses hydration after mixing and extrusion to mimic the flavor and texture imparted by frying. "The hydrating step provides for a way to control texture and size of an extruded starch product without adversely affecting the nutritional value of the product," the company wrote in its patent filing. LIVE Soda Kombucha signs distribution deal with Target
Six flavors of LIVE Soda Kombucha will be available in 1,500 Target stores beginning in September.
