Keurig Green Mountain will be the exclusive producer of Harris Teeter brand single-serve coffee pods, which will include the Keurig Brewed seal. Quinoa rides food trends to the top of the market
U.S. quinoa imports grew to 14.2 million pounds in 2013, compared with 1.6 million pounds in 2007, and the price of the grain has increased to $7.56 per pound from $3.50 during the same period. Quinoa's popularity has risen in large part due to food trends such as superfoods and gluten-free diets, experts say. Sports-nutrition products see growth in market niches
Companies including Post Holdings and Hormel Foods are getting into the sports-nutrition game as the market becomes increasingly targeted.
