Natick, Mass.-based BJ's Wholesale Club said Thursday it plans to consider options including a possible sale of the company, a month after reports of a possible hostile takeover bid by private equity firm Leonard Green & Partners. Also last month, BJ's announced plans to close five underperforming stores and cut 100 corporate jobs as part of a move to stave off dissatisfied shareholders. Borders plans to remain in business and is working to restructure with the goal of creating a "strong Borders for the long term," a spokeswoman said Wednesday. J.C. Penney has branded a section of the jewelry department in its 1,100 stores as Modern Bride under a licensing agreement with publisher Conde Nast. Police arrested two Kentucky residents in a Wal-Mart parking lot and charged the pair with receiving stolen property after finding $4,770 worth of baby formula in their van.
