  • P&G facility in Maine is its ninth zero-waste plant
    A Maine feminine-care plant is the first Procter & Gamble facility in North America to become "zero waste to landfill." The designation means all the waste produced by the plant is turned over to outside partners, who recycle it or convert it to energy. The company has eight such plants in Belgium, Hungary, Italy and the U.K.. It hopes to reduce manufacturing waste to less than 0.5% by 2020.
