    People with mild hypertension who consumed soy or milk-protein supplements for two months had a 2-point reduction in their systolic blood pressure, while those who took carbohydrate supplements saw no improvement in their blood pressure, according to a study in the journal Circulation. Although the drops seen in the study were low on an individual level, they would be "very, very important at a population level," the study's lead author said.
