A Mintel survey on attitudes toward high fructose corn syrup found 46% of consumers saying they don't know enough about it to determine if it is good or bad for health. Yet 64% said it is "OK in moderation" and 35% said they avoid products containing it. "The public wants to be informed about HFCS content, while still maintaining their freedom of choice," said a Mintel analyst. "While they still may choose better-for-you options, they don't necessarily want the government or anyone else imposing limits on what can or cannot be added to their food." NeoPharm, a subsidiary of South Korea's Aekyung Group, recently announced that it has signed a deal with a retailer in the United Arab Emirates for $500,000 worth of cosmetics.
