Retailers are finding they can improve sales by placing certain items near each other in stores. For example, placing milk near cereal boosts sales, as does soft drinks near snack chips. "A number of categories are naturals -- milk and cereal, orange juice and any snack," a marketing professor said. "They're not necessarily consumed together but they are bought together."
