As Japan's Uniqlo carries out an ambitious plan to expand in the U.S., it has hired former Wieden+Kennedy creative director Todd Waterbury to lead the creation of campaigns that promote the Japanese fast-fashion chain "with a New York inflection," he says. Uniqlo, which has 1,013 stores around the world including a New York flagship, plans to expand in major U.S. cities as part of a push to hit nearly $60 billion in sales by 2020. Walgreen is launching "The Biggest Loser" meal bars and shakes in cooperation with NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products Group. The products, available exclusively at Walgreen stores and based on the NBC weight-loss show, "are made primarily of simple, natural ingredients, making them a great addition to any weight-loss plan," said an NBCUniversal official. Italy's Bulgari, Maserati and other luxury goods companies have recently overhauled their marketing efforts to appeal to female entrepreneurs in China.
