 - Towns fight to keep their local Sears stores
Many of the Sears stores slated for closure this year are located in small towns where they're one of a handful of shopping options. Officials in at least four such towns are using petitions, rallies and even the offer of tax incentives to convince Sears Holdings to keep their stores open, but so far the company is holding firm to its plan to close the underperforming locations.
