U.S. retailers will see sales grow a relatively modest 3.4% this year, after a higher-than-expected 4.7% jump in 2011 that was driven in part by higher prices, according to an NRF forecast. "Consumers are finding a way to get out there and spend. But the consumers are different today. They are much more focused on value. They are much more informed than they ever were," President and CEO Matthew Shay said at Retail's BIG Show on Sunday.
