As coffee production slows in Colombia and Brazil, companies are searching the world to find new breeds of wild coffee that can be developed. "The holy grail is a heat-resistant varietal that provides quality coffee," said Patrick Criteser, CEO of private-label coffee supplier Coffee Bean International, which is part of World Coffee Research, a nonprofit seeking coffee varieties financed by Peet's Coffee & Tea, J.M.
