Ace Hardware has launched almost 400 Ace Express stores in the U.S., a scaled-down 5,000-square-foot format designed to fit into areas that can't accommodate full-line stores. In urban and rural markets, the smaller stores have opened within larger grocery and paint stores, or operated as an annex of nearby full-line Ace Hardware stores, the company says.
