 - Supergroup boss has reason to celebrate this year
Julian Dunkerton, head of Supergroup, which owns the increasingly popular Superdry fashion label, had a great year. Dunkerton, who owns roughly 30% of the retailer, became a wealthy man after the chain's stock market flotation, but riches were not his goal. "You know, you kind of think, 'Oh well, that's amazing,' and you go on and carry on. I am not a big spender of money. Material things don't interest me. This [waves at the shops] interests me. I get more excited by progress than anything else. I like development. I like to be constantly growing," he said.  - Chile's Cencosud plans to build stores, malls
Cencosud, one of the largest retailers in Chile, is planning to invest roughly $1 billion next year in new stores, supermarkets and shopping malls. Cencosud, which also operates in Brazil, Peru, Argentina and Colombia, recently announced its acquisition of Bretas, a Brazilian supermarket chain.
