- U.S. consumers accept higher apparel prices
Clothing retailers were able to raise prices an average of 6% without sacrificing sales as consumers grew willing to pay full price in the first half of the year. "The consumer is willing to pay a full price when there is pent-up demand for newness, in this case bright color and bold prints," said Alison Levy, a retail strategist at Kurt Salomon.
