Delhaize Group said it will eliminate 5,000 jobs and expects revenue to drop 2.4%, as it closes 146 Food Lion, Bloom and Bottom Dollar Food stores in the U.S. and Europe. The company also will convert 42 Bloom stores and 22 Bottom Dollar stores in the U.S. to Food Lion stores. "Consumers continued to feel pressured in the fourth quarter due to the macroeconomic environment, and this led to a reduction in spending," said CEO Pierre-Olivier Beckers. Designer Isaac Mizrahi will launch his first clothing line for newborns and infants this fall, under a manufacturing and distribution deal with bon bebe. Kroger is about to install its second automated kiosk, a 10-by-13-foot branded convenience store that dispenses as many as 200 items. The machine will be at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. A similar kiosk has been operating at a fuel station in Columbus, Ohio, since 2007; the second one is an updated version. The percentage of small businesses with websites has increased dramatically during the past few years, and Google is working to get these small firms to try search advertising.
