Australian retail operator Wesfarmers will open 19 new Coles supermarkets this year, while closing 11 underperforming locations and remodeling about 400 other stores, executives told investors on Wednesday. - Luxury brands collaborate on French anti-counterfeit ads
French luxury goods association Comité Colbert has collaborated with seven designer brands and the French Customs agency on an anti-counterfeiting campaign set to launch next month. Ads, including 10,000 posters at the country's 18 airports, will feature photos from brands including Cartier and Chanel, along with tongue-in-cheek slogans such as "Buy a fake Cartier, get a genuine criminal record." Wal-Mart has taken out full-page ads in several US markets where consumer electronics retailer Best Buy is closing stores, urging shoppers to switch their business to Wal-Mart stores.
