- Alibaba will pay Yahoo! $7.1 billion in stock buyback
Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba Group Holding will pay about $6.3 billion in cash and $800 million in stock to buy back 20% of itself from Yahoo!, the companies said. Alibaba, which reportedly is positioning itself to go public, has been working to buy back Yahoo!'s interest for more than a year.
