Dole has launched a campaign this summer based on a study showing bananas provide the same energy boost as sports drinks but are more nutritious, less expensive and have no artificial ingredients.  - Price of corn futures increases amid crop concern
High temperatures and drought are harming the U.S. corn crop, sending the price of corn futures up 14% in a single week and reversing a three-month trend of declining global food prices. - Wash. retailers put after-tax price on liquor
Retailers in Washington state are responding to customer demand and adding tax information to price tags of liquor. "We learned very quickly it's tricky and difficult for people to figure out," said John McKay, executive vice president of Costco Wholesale. Large retailers have been allowed to sell liquor since June 1, but customers were struggling to figure out the tax, which is 20.5%, plus a liter tax that varies with the size of the bottle.
