- Old Navy to open 1st store outside North America
Gap-owned apparel brand Old Navy will open a 10,000-square-foot store in Japan on Thursday, the chain's first brick-and-mortar foray outside North America. - Retailers want IT to give them a local advantage
Retailers put geo-local capabilities atop their wish lists, according to a survey by CompTIA. More than one-fifth of 500 retailers surveyed have already taken advantage of geo-localizing technology, such as a Foursquare check in, and 28% have immediate plans to add capabilities. The retailers want to combine geo-local targeting with loyalty programs, QR codes and coupon offers with Groupon, for example.
