  • Researchers say a few financial companies could kill spam
A team of University of California scientists focused on finding ways to reduce or eliminate spam say that their most recent work points to the ability of a handful of financial companies to stop the flow of junk e-mail. • Facebook wanders into underage-advertising minefield
Facebook's millions of underage users could constitute a legal minefield as the company seeks to blur the line between widely circulated user "likes" and paid advertising. Lawyers say it's unclear whether children are legally capable of giving consent for their images to be used for advertising purposes, or whether agreeing to Facebook's terms constitutes informed consent. "Nobody knows if it's legal. ... It's very possible that a court may rule Facebook didn't have adequate consent," said media lawyer Linda Goldstein.
