    Marks & Spencer reported a 13% increase in full-year profit despite the difficult trading environment. The British retailer is planning to test new store formats in an effort to build on its results.   • Tesco subsidiary buys social marketing company BzzAgent
    Dunnhumby, a marketing data firm owned by Tesco, is poised to acquire BzzAgent, a network of 800,000 agents who "buzz" about new products and services after testing them. Dunnhumby operates Tesco's loyalty programs. "We can take loyal customers and make them advocates for a product or a retailer," said Dave Balter, founder of BzzAgent.   • Burberry prepares for the Olympics by bolstering London store space
    Burberry, run by CEO Angela Ahrendts, is planning to double its store space in London before the start of the 2012 Olympic Games. While Burberry will expand some stores and possibly open others, it also plans to close its stand-alone childrenswear shop in Notting Hill. "I think it's time that we aggressively reinvest in London -- our real estate footprint and our brand footprint," Ahrendts said.
