- Survey: 67% of food and drink execs expect M&A for their companies
In a survey by KPMG, 67% of executives at food and drink companies said they expect their firms to be involved in merger activity during the next two years. A KPMG official said companies will try to sell brands they couldn't divest during the downturn. "It's not like they're desperate to get rid of them, but they really do want to reinvest the money in some brands that make more sense for their strategy," he said.
