Giant Eagle added two compressed natural gas fueling stations to its distribution and retail-support center in Pittsburgh, supplying the company's custom-equipped fleet. The stations are also open to the public for passenger vehicles. Buyers from specialty men's wear chains including 15-store South Moon Under in Maryland are optimistic heading into the spring shows next week, buoyed by an upswing in sales that promises to continue in the coming months. - Washington State boosts crackdown on organized retail theft
Tacoma police officer Scott Stanley started the Washington State Organized Retail Crime Alliance last year to bring together retailers and law enforcement agencies to help reduce retail theft, and the group's website has since signed several hundred registered users who share information about crimes and suspects. More than 95% of retailers have fallen victim to retail thieves, whose crimes cost the industry more than $30 billion annually, according to NRF data. FederalWayNews.net (Wash.)
