- Supermarkets lose luster as grocery destination
As shoppers gain grocery choices, supermarkets' market share dipped to 51% in 2011. Meanwhile, SUPERVALU plans to suspend its dividend and hire advisers for a strategic review. U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement officials seized 70 websites that were allegedly selling counterfeit clothes, jewelry and other luxury items, in an operation dubbed "Project Copy Cat." At 80% of its stores, Walgreens has changed the lighting, switching to linear fluorescent fixtures that are more energy efficient and lamps that make displays appear more vivid.
