    Kathmandu Holdings, the Christchurch-based outdoor clothing retailer, reported more than $NZ39 million in profit for the 12 months that ended June 30. Kathmandu sales rose 25%. "We have achieved double digit same-store sales growth in both Australia and New Zealand and improved margins despite the well-publicised difficult economic environment," according to CEO Peter Halkett.   • Walmart Canada sees upside in economic uncertainty
    David Cheesewright, chief executive officer at Walmart Canada, said that the retailing giant has a strong increase in its opening price points and other areas of its business.     Yves Carcelle, head of the fashion and leather goods division at LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, said that the company isn't not seeing any indications that demand for luxury goods is slowing in Europe or America.
