Li & Fung Retailing, which operates more than 100 Toys R Us stores in Asia, has made a buyout offer for Hong Kong-based clothing retailer Hang Ten. UK consumers are expected to spend about £186.4 million shopping online on Christmas Day, a 12% increase over last year, driven by demand for content to load on MP3 players, e-readers and other gadgets they've received as gifts, according to a report from IMRG. Sobeys, Canada's second-largest supermarket chain, will acquire 250 Shell gas stations in Quebec and Atlantic Canada for an undisclosed amount.
